La Zingara Trattoria, nestled in Arlington Heights, IL, has emerged as a hidden gem that captures the essence of authentic Italian dining. Customers rave about the warm atmosphere akin to a cozy neighborhood trattoria, transporting diners to a bygone era of New York’s Italian scene. The service is consistently praised for its attentiveness, with staff anticipating needs without intrusive inquiries. Jane Patterson’s experience highlights the deliciousness and generous portions of dishes like the lamb shank and Caesar salad with grilled salmon, emphasizing a commitment to flavor and quality.
Grace Waugh notes the incredible value, particularly for families, as a night out here costs significantly less than dining at fancier venues in downtown Chicago. The rich Bolognese and decadent gnocchi, as described by Royce Hamel, showcase the kitchen's skill in crafting truly memorable Italian fare. Meanwhile, Antonio Perez’s recommendation of baked oysters and veal medallions speaks to the restaurant’s diverse and thoughtfully curated menu.
With a combination of delicious food, friendly service, and a charming vibe, La Zingara Trattoria promises an enjoyable dining experience worth revisiting time and again.

Wonderful service! The staff are all friendly and attentive! They see when you need something without asking, more water, drinks. clearing dirty plates, etc. My husband and mother in law ordered entrees and got a salad. I ordered the Caesar salad with grilled salmon. Though it did not come with a soup, the waiter brought me a cup anyways for me to try. Nice touch! The salad I ordered was delicious! My husband had lamb shank which was a special. It was very tender and flavorful. The portions are very large so you could share. Liked their to go boxes which were aluminum. We loved it and will go back.Thank you for a great dining experience!

First time here and this place is less than a mile from my house! My husband and I would pass by it every time we went to Tony’s and we would see so many cars there. Figured we gotta check this place out! Loved it! Very rustic and cozy vibe! Food and service was amazing! Truly felt welcomed! And the value was ..wow! For 3 ppl- We had Appetizers, entrees, and a bottle of wine - spent much less than dining at some bougie Italian restaurant in downtown Chicago! entrees are big portions too (I know mine was). How’d we miss not coming here! I think my husband and I found ourselves a new hangout for a cozy drink and dinner! Amiamo questo posto

Only problem was it was a little loud. I can only imagine what it's like full! That being said, the food was delicious (we thought we could finish the appetizer and entrees. Spoilers: WE COULD NOT), the service was very good, and it was a very good place to be. My partner said the Bolognese was the second best ever (the best no longer exists, sadly), and my own gnocchi was so rich! Will probably be back! Update: WE'VE BEEN BACK, and it was just as good as the first time!! Not to mention my leftovers (forgive me, it was some kind of cheese ravioli with artichoke hearts and sun-dried tomatoes, I forgot the name) are absolutely DELICIOUS second day! And my partner's Bolognese was STILL THE BEST.

We've driven past so many times and thought we might as well try it. I'm so glad we did. The food was delicious! The wait staff on point. We can't wait to go back to try different dishes!

First time dining here. The ambiance has a New York Italian neighborhood feel from 65 to 70 years ago which made the dining experience that much more enjoyable. I recommend the baked oysters for the appetizers, simply delicious. For the entree try the veal medallions. The food and service was very good. Also a great wine selection. We will definitely be returning.

On the recommendation of friends, we held our mom's funeral luncheon here yesterday and were very glad we did. From start to finish, Jesus and his crew were kind and accommodating. All of our guests raved about the food. The focaccia, bruschetta, sausage and peppers and chicken marsala were excellent. They also went above and beyond making sure our GF guest had a great meal. The waitstaff attended to every need. We highly recommend this lovely little trattoria and will definitely be back.

Lovely Sicilian cuisine and very hospitable service. Jesus and his team make sure that you’re taken care of! All with a great selection of wines and delicious dishes— and take it from a guy that’s dined in Italy, it’s just as good as they make it overseas!
